20 Year Veteran Perfectly Explains The Issues Behind Arming Teachers In Controversial Twitter Thread

With the Parkland shooting in Florida, a lot of people have tried to come up with solutions to prevent school shootings.

No one wants dead children on their conscience. Not liberals, nor conservatives, but the shootings are growing more and more frequent and it’s a problem that needs to be addressed. There have been a lot of potential solutions, from bulletproof windows to armed security detail to arming the teachers.

There’s also been a push for a ban on all guns, but the counterpoint is that unlike other countries like UK and Australia, the United States is massive and there’s no way to keep everything under surveillance. It wouldn’t reduce gun violence, only reduce the number of people defending themselves.

One of the suggestions that have gotten more support from the Republican party is “arming the teachers”. A 20-year veteran took to Twitter to express his concerns about this solution, and so far, he isn’t wrong.

He questions how they can train teachers that which they don’t train soldiers for.

How is it going to work?

Taking a life isn’t something as simple as pulling the trigger.

There’s also the question of money.
