Store Owner Tried To Ban Gay People From Entering His Store But It Backfired Brutally

When it comes to the LGBT community, not everyone supports them, and therefore, they face a lot of backlash from the public.

Similarly, there was this guy who goes by the name of Jeff Amyx. He belongs to Tennessee and owns a hardware store. He took a lot of criticism back in 2015 when he put up a sign on his store which said “No Gays Allowed”.

You know where it gets worse? Jeff Amyx happens to be a Baptist minister as well, and he decided to replace the current sign and write some more information on it. So, the new sign that he decided to replace with the old one said, “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who would violate our rights of freedom of speech & freedom of religion.”

Due to this, Mr. Jeff had to face a lot of backlash from the liberals and public. You can’t just say something like that and get away with it. Many people took it up to Twitter to share their opinion and not just that, they even stated their opinions on Yelp.

They boycotted the store and asked other people to do it as well. Moreover, they even made a joke out of it by labelling the store as a gay bar. “Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies” received so much criticism from the public that YELP had to delete comments but even then the people didn’t stop.

Let’s take a look at what people had to say.

So, here’s Mr. Jeff, who seems like a complete asshole.

This was the sign that Mr. Jeff put up on his shop to piss people off.

This is what he initially decided to put up.

People on Twitter had a lot to say.

I agree with him!

Made it to the news too.

Here come the comments that have been revolving on YELP.

Well, I don’t think it’s their job.

That’s what Mr. Jeff came up with after receiving a lot of backlash from people.

Absolutely my thoughts.

That’s harassment.

Haha, I like how the people are reacting!

Damn, that’s some serious accusation.

Gay hardware supplies!?

This place is surely going down.

Yes, he’s definitely not putting up that sign again.

Yes, arrogance at its peak.

There goes another customer.

That’s absolutely true.

Satan? That’s a bit extreme.
