If you’ve ever been an avid reader, odds are, a novel you’ve read turned into a movie.

Whether it’s Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or even The Hunger Games, it’s happened. And odds are, you’ve been disappointed, because they never live up to the standard of the novel.

Sidenote, always watch the movie before reading the book. What would usually irritate you because the movie didn’t mention it, will seem like a treat when you find it out in the book.

Anyway, a police sketch artist Brian Joseph Davis has a tumblr called The Composites.

In it, he draws characters from famous novels based on the description in the books, and compares it to how they were shown in the movies.

Sometimes it’s scary accurate, like the author’s imagination came to life. Other times, it’s so far from the truth that you wonder how they could say they were faithful to the source material to begin with!

Either way, I’d totally recommend going through Davis’ tumblr.

If you aren’t a fan yet, the following images might convince you otherwise.
