23 Things Only People Who Were Raised By Really Strict Parents Understand

Growing up with strict parents can be tough. I know, because I was raised by them too. I turned out to be the sneakiest of my friends as well.

Here are a few things you can relate to if you have stern parents, and if you don’t know what it’s like, just read the list below:

Missing out on all the fun because you had to leave early according to your curfew.

You need three business days to try to convince your parents for a sleepover. Also, you need to give details about the friend’s family, their names, numbers, nationality and blood groups. You had to swear upon your life that you wouldn’t do any drugs and sleep early.

Last minute plans are never possible for you. You need at least a week to beg and explain to your parents your reason for hanging out. Who needs to socialise anyway?

Preparing your conversations mentally before asking your parents for permission is a regular thing.

Always checking their mood before asking them something.

Acting heartbroken to attain some sympathy by saying “Nevermind… You’re going to say no anyway.” It works like a charm!

Asking them again makes no difference after they refuse once. Your friends just won’t understand that.

You can’t hang out all days of the weekend. It’s either Friday, or it’s Saturday. You can’t pick both.

Panicking like crazy whenever your friends constantly change plans. You have to keep your parents updated, with the fear of them getting tired of it and not letting you go in the end.

You become a professional liar.
