When No One Asked This Teen To Prom, She Took Her Harvard Acceptance Letter

Meet Priscilla Samey, a strong, independent 17-year-old who don’t need no man.

So, this is Samey’s story. She is a high school student, who didn’t let the lack of a prom date ruin her day. Samey shared on Twitter how no one accepted her for prom, so she decided to go with someone who did: her Harvard University letter.

Her tweet spread around the web like wildfire. She wrote: “Couldn’t find a man to accept me for prom so I took a college that did #Harvard2021 #prom2k17.”

How does one reject, or not ask out, a lady like that? I mean, just look at that sense of humor. And to top it off, Yale, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Columbia, and Brown also accepted her. She, however, picked Harvard and friend zoned the rest.

But my point is, this amazing lady has humor, looks, AND intelligence. She needs to be applauded for that.

“I took a date that was pretty low maintenance, so I didn’t have to pay for his dinner,” said Samey. She talked about how all her classmates found it kind of funny. “They all thought it was so funny and cute,” she said. “I didn’t get any negative feedback like I thought I would and they all were very proud and supportive.”

The rest of the internet supported her too:

Samey now plans on being more awesome by picking political science with a pre-law background at Harvard. She decided to get her Juris Doctorate and a business administration degree because she has a passion for business law. Her background is Togolese, and she has some pretty fantastic advice for teens everywhere: “There’s a lot of pressure nowadays that there’s a type colleges want. Stick to your roots, and write essays that reflect who you are as a person.”

You go, Samey!
