It’s no surprise that dogs are called a man’s best friend. The special chemistry dogs share with humans goes back to tens and thousands of years. That’s why, when Netflix launched the trailer of their new documentary series, ‘Dogs’, dog owners couldn’t help but shed a few bittersweet tears. The documentary series which is set to release at the end of this year will show six stories of humans and canines bonding from across the world.
Directors, Roger Ross Williams (Life Animated), TJ Martin and Daniel Lindsay (Undefeated, LA 92), Heidi Ewing (Jesus Camp), Richard Hankin (The Jinx) and Amy Berg (Deliver Us from Evil) have been roped for the project.
According to Vanity Fair, Netflix describes the series as “an elegant, engaging, and cinematic vérité documentary series celebrating the deep emotional bonds between people and their beloved four-legged best friends.”
‘Dogs’ is a roller coaster of emotions, and each episode is set to highlight a different story. The first episode of the show is the story of an 11-year old girl, who suffers from seizures. An episode set in Germany tells the story of a Syrian refugee trying to bring his Siberian husky he was forced to leave behind in war-torn Syria.
