I’m a firm believer that a picture can convey many things that words cannot. This is definitely true for XP’s iconic wallpaper ‘Bliss’. According to an estimate, more that 1 billion people have seen it, making it the most viewed picture in the world. The photographer behind this blissful pictures is Charles O’ Rear.
And he’s still creating “the next generation of wallpapers” after 21 years.
I am turning seventy-six and realize how much the Microsoft Bliss photograph has meant to my life. As the photographer of the most viewed photo in history, I have enjoyed every minute of the fame.
I am thrilled to create for Lufthansa a sequel to the “Bliss” photo on smart phones so that my views of other beautiful places can continue to be enjoyed by millions of people. After all, smart phones have become the primary place for the world to see new and interesting photography. And, I’m glad to be part of it.
