People don’t actually approach each other and say “Do you wanna go out with me?”. What happens is that they simply hang out with each other until they’re dating. For most, that’s not exactly correct. Every guy knows the friend zone, in fact, it’s probably their worst nightmare. It’s when you’re trying to get the girl to date you, but she keeps pushing you as a friend.
“Hey, I got you this bouquet of roses.” The guy says.
“Aww! Thank you, you’re such a good friend.” The girl says, crushing his hopes and dreams.
That’s just a small example. Recently, a guy took this girl out on a super romantic and wonderful date. He got her flowers and ice-cream, took her to dinner and Top Golf, and went horseback riding.
Her post reads:
From Top Gold, to dinner, flowers, ice cream and Horseback riding, you out-did yourself on this friend date Daniel! You wanted to set a standard for how I should be treated and you sure set a high one. I thank God so much that He put an amazing friend like you in my life. Thank you for making me feel like a true princess! #stillsingletho
Ouch. If the whole paragraph wasn’t bad enough, she signed it off with that brutal hashtag. RIP Daniel.
However, that’s not all. The story doesn’t end there.
And that’s when the post really blew up. People came from all corners of the world to sympathize with the guy.

With all the abuse Alex was getting, Daniel was quick to rush to her defense.

The post reads as follows:
This post is to clear up my whole “friend” date. First off, I am the one who set these boundaries to begin with. I am also the one who made up the hashtag as a joke. Leading up to the day, Alex had shared with me her testimony, and because of her past relationships her self worth had diminished. She had never been treated like a lady and I wanted to show her what it was like. So please, stop the harassment. This is the exact opposite of what I wanted to happen. The comments and messages she has had been receiving have been nothing but hate. She does not deserve that. She is a wonderful woman of God and lives her whole life for Him. And to everyone at CFNI, please help spread this and the love that Christ has, for that’s what we stand for.
Which, honestly, sounds incredibly sweet. Nevertheless, the internet will continue to look back on this Instagram post as one of the most savage, brutal, and tragic ways poor old Daniel was shoved into the friendzone.
