Her name is Kirsty Penn Veros and she said she recognised her car. Now, because of the quality of the image, it’s hard to tell whether or not she’s telling the truth because the license plate isn’t visible.
“I made a joke about that probably being me last year. I then looked up pictures of the evacuation and saw [the] post on the Daily Dot. I recognized my car immediately.
“I am a soldier in the Florida Army National Guard. I was living in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, at the time and was activated for Hurricane Relief that morning and had to Report to Crystal River, Florida, by the end of the day.
“I drove between 90-95 MPH due to lack of eastbound traffic, I was the only person eastbound for nearly 200 miles.
“I am alive and well and still serving our country,”
