From changing their diapers to hearing a child’s first words, raising a child is one hell of a roller coaster ride. Even though the road to raising a child is a bumpy one, it leaves parents exhausted to the core, and it is something all parents cherish till their last breath. It’s painful, but it’s worth it. Parents face many hazards, and Weng Chen has used her artsy skills to illustrate another series. However, this time around, it focuses on the risks parents face.
“I’ve done a lot of comics when I was younger but stopped for a long time. One side effect of having children is that it gives you the real sense of mortality. When my second child turned two, I had the urge to start again because if I didn’t, I might never achieve my dream,” Weng Chen told Bored Panda while addressing what inspired her to start creating.
Her latest series is a comical yet light-hearted illustration of how a child can hurt their parent:
“It was fun and meaningful to document my children’s growth, as well as mine. The parents from all over the world told me how this is just like their life experience. I’m happy to know that I was not alone in this situation, and so do other people who read my comics.” the mom of two added, commenting on what lied behind the series.
