She’s also the only billionaire to drop off Forbe’s list because she gave so much of her wealth away. Nevertheless, she’s still prominent on Twitter, and has been known to drop scathing and witty tweet threads on social issues from time to time. And a few years ago, people were a little taken aback by Rowling saying she always thought Dumbledore to be gay.
There was no indication of Dumbledore being gay, no implication, no suggestion, nothing of the sort. But neither was there any indication or implication of him being straight. So when a fan, Ana Kocovic, asked:
“Thank you so much for writing Harry Potter. I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is gay, because I can’t see him in that way.”
The tweet has since been deleted, but Rowling replied:
.@anakocovic21 Maybe because gay people just look like… people?

“@jk_rowling amazing answer… Yes you are absolutely right. Such an inspiration!!!“
But there were a lot of people that thought her question was out of line, that she was being homophobic and discriminatory. To them, she weighed in and said:
A minority of people are rushing to judgement without the facts, so here they are: @anakocovic21 did NOT ask an offensive question!

Was Ana Kocovic’s question out of line, or was it fair?
