Disney Princesses Reimagined As Different Ethnicities Look Absolutely Beautiful

In recent years, Disney has vastly managed to improve the diversity of its characters and in particular, its Disney Princesses.

The reveal of Tiana, the first black princess, was greatly welcomed and even more recently, the introduction of Moana was even more applauded. There are of course other diverse Disney Princesses like the Arabic Jasmine, the Native American Pocahontas and The Chinese Mulan but many say there is still some ways to go.

However, for those who don’t want to wait to see more a more diverse Disney, the Let There Be Doodles Tumblr blog is there to make all of your dreams come true. They have created images that show famous Disney Princesses as other races, and the effects are mind-blowingly cool. Have you ever wanted to see a Japanese Cinderella or a Jamaican Aurora? Well, now you can!

The artist who made these commented that “fairy tales are constantly being taken out of their cultural context. Most of the fairy tales that we know now were taken out of their original cultural context and altered. Aladdin was originally set in China. The Frog Prince was Latin, and was altered over and over again in several countries.” Maybe with this in mind, we will see a lot more diversity in future Disney stories, but now, we can use these to fire up our imaginations and wonder how much these movies would have changed if the characters were of that race… Anyone else wanted to see an Ancient Egyptian Hercules?
