From Disney surprises to 90s cartoons, there are so many queer coded characters that you’ll be surprised you missed them. There are some, however, that think that it’s counter-productive, since there isn’t any difference between gay and straight people beyond loving different people. At any rate, you can decide that for yourself! I’m just here to tell you what people think!

The ultimate tomboy of the 00s, she was so against traditional femininity norms that people began to think that she was a butch lesbian!
Leather clad, fur underwear, the short blond hair, and the alter-ego known as Fisto. Fans thought that Prince Adam was a little too hyper-masculine, and thought that he used it as a cover to hide his queerness.
The loveable sponge is everything masculinity was described not to be. High pitched, squeaky, and physically weak. He also caused a “gay panic” in the 00s so LGBT fans never forgot.
After the Disney movieĀ FrozenĀ hit the theaters, fans clamoured for more Elsa. She was the only Disney princess that remained single by the end of the movie, proving her to need no man. Fans did want her to have a woman, though, so #GiveElsaAGirlfriend began trending on Twitter for while.
As you can see, there’s a whole bunch of innuendos around the cat and dog duo. They lived in the same house, and slept in the same bed, and the creator of the show wouldn’t confirm or deny their gayness. So fans went with it.
A lot of viewers drew comparisons between sea witch Ursula and drag queens. It was her gusto attitude and vibrant makeup. It was later confirmed that her design came from a popular drag queen known as Divine. So gay or not, she’s an LGBT icon.
