The research checked over 800 different products, and found that women paid about 7% more. They did conclude that there were “legitimate drivers behind some portion of the price discrepancies unearthed in this study, these higher prices are mostly unavoidable for women.”
There are two things that I can think of that might suffice as the “legitimate drivers”. Such as that women care more about their appearance than men do, and therefore desire more effective and higher quality products than men. For example, guys will pick a shampoo based on the fact that it has “shampoo and conditioner” written on it. A woman will look for the precise thing she needs for a very specific trait.
Alternatively, men and women don’t have the same priorities. I don’t know of many men that are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on something to improve their appearance, whereas women spend about that much on makeup alone.
Nevertheless, Cards Against Humanity got in on the action and created a satirised “For Her” version that’s exactly the same as the original version, but pink and more expensive.
🎀👋Say hi to Cards Against Humanity for Her. It's exactly the same as the original game, but it's pink & costs more: https://t.co/OfkED24811

To the question, “Is this product really necessary?”, they answer:
“It’s adorable. It’s cute. Self-care. Take time for yourself. Chia bowl. Perfect on your coffee table or bookshelf. Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Brunch. Cheat day. Nasty women. Yaaaaaaaas queen! Good vibes only. Activated charcoal. Gender Reveal Party. Avocado face peels. You’re such a Miranda. Paleo.”
The proceeds, however, go to Emily’s List, a fund set up for women who wish to run for elected office. Twitter, however, caught on quickly, and had a field day.

As a lady-person, I'd buy it, but only if you pour blue liquid over the box to show its absorbency. Also, does it come with wings?

The website states:
“Everyone hates it when the men retire to the parlor to discuss the economy and the various issues of the day. What are us ladies supposed to do? Now there’s an answer. Cards Against Humanity for Her. It’s exactly the same as the original Cards Against Humanity game, but the box is pink and it costs $5 more.”
