This Mother Starts Her Own Clothing Line After Only Seeing Frilly Clothes For Girls

You might think, that girls have more choice when picking out clothes. And that would be very true but are the choices even different.? Most of the young girls these days are wearing frilly and pastel clothes. I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with that.

Just that, some girls don’t want any sparkles. Everyone is different and that applies to kids too. A woman named Sharon Choksi got tired of only seeing short-shorts for girls. She wanted to empower young girls, and thats how the Girls Will Be fashion line was born.

Sharon Choksi got tired, because of not being able to find middle length shorts for her daughter, Maya.

She wanted girls, to celebrate and be whoever they wanted. Everyone is different and they should be able to show that in their clothes.

“There is definitely more than one way to be a girl, and it doesn’t always have to involve pink and sparkles”

She soon found out that girls shorts were third of the length, when compared with boy shorts.

She collected boy and girl clothes from stores, for research purposes. She soon found out that girls shorts were shorter as were the sleeves, and the clothes were made from a thinner material.

Choksi wanted girls to be active and free, so she started her own clothing line.

She started offering clothes that celebrated girls personalities with a “no girlie-girl” approach.

Maya and Grace were her inspiration for the fashion line.

They were more keen on clothes with no frills, “nothing with bows” and obviously “NO sparkles.”

The girls were more interested in climbing trees, building LEGO creations, and playing with cars and trucks.”
